An assault was reported around 6:48 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot on Rimrock Avenue (row 9). Grand Junction Police units were dispatched to the scene.
Radio traffic indicated a younger male struck an older male, who was bleeding from his face. No weapons were reported. Officers said a crowd of about 10 people began to gather; they requested EMS to stage nearby. One male suspect was detained by police.
