
Grand Junction, CO — Two men were arrested Saturday night after Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered a reported stolen vehicle in the 700 block of Horizon Drive.
Around 11 p.m. on December 28, patrol deputies located the unattended vehicle and began investigating. According to the Sheriff’s Office, two adult males were contacted as they were leaving the area. Through the course of the investigation, both were determined to be connected to the stolen vehicle.


Deputies arrested 22-year-old Jacob Sears and 36-year-old Anthony Sabas, both of Grand Junction, without incident. They were transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 2nd Degree (Felony 4)
- Theft from a Motor Vehicle, $300–$1,000 (Misdemeanor 2)
Sears was also booked on a parole violation.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation for assistance from the Colorado State Patrol during the incident.
Deputies also reminded residents to remain vigilant by locking vehicles, removing valuables, and avoiding leaving vehicles running unattended.
