Two Suspects Arrested in Christmas Eve Robbery

Grand Junction, CO — Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department arrested two men in connection with a violent robbery that occurred late Christmas Eve at the Laurel House on North 12th Street.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on December 24, officers were dispatched to the residence at 3197 N 12th Street for a reported robbery. During their investigation, police learned that two men known to the victim forced their way into his room.

According to investigators, the suspects physically assaulted and choked the victim, causing him to lose consciousness. Both men were reportedly armed with what appeared to be guns; one was later determined to be a BB gun.

The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Anthony Bowker and 18-year-old Nevin “Alex” Garcia. Arrest warrants were issued for both men.

On December 28, officers located Bowker and Garcia and took them into custody without incident. They were transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked on charges including:

  • Aggravated Robbery
  • Menacing
  • Second Degree Assault
  • Additional related charges

Police believe the incident was isolated and say there is no ongoing danger to the public. The investigation remains active.
