At about 4:13 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Skyway Point near Highway 65 for a reported cardiac arrest of a 65-year-old male.
The patient was located roughly a quarter mile from the trailhead. Callers reported the man was unconscious and not breathing; three people at the scene were rotating performing CPR. Responders reported the area may be snow-covered and inaccessible by standard vehicles, so snowmobiles were being deployed to reach the patient. CareFlight was dispatched and is arriving on scene.
Update 5:07 p.m.: The Mesa County Coroner has been requested by deputies on scene.
