Clifton, CO — A Clifton man has been arrested following a Mesa County Sheriff’s Office investigation into an incident involving minors that occurred in the fall of 2025.
Investigators identified 41-year-old Rene Romero Reyes as the adult suspected of providing alcohol to a group of minors and attempting to sexually assault at least one of them. Following the investigation, deputies obtained charges and arrested Reyes without incident.
Reyes was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Attempted Sex Assault, Felony 5
- Criminal Attempt, Felony 5
- Second Degree Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Misdemeanor 1
The Sheriff’s Office did not release additional details, citing the ongoing nature of the case and the involvement of minors.
