
Grand Junction, CO — A Grand Junction man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he waved a firearm inside an occupied residence, prompting a large law enforcement response.
Around 3:25 a.m. on January 3, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to a reported weapon call in the 200 block of Lauralee Avenue. When officers arrived, they learned an adult male had been waving a gun inside the home.
The other occupants were able to safely exit the residence while officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. Police detained the man without further incident, and the firearm was secured.
No injuries were reported.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Nathaniel Casper, was taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked on the following charges:
- Felony Menacing (two counts)
- Reckless Endangerment (ten counts)
- Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender
- Prohibited Use of a Weapon
- Child Abuse (three counts)
Police say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
