Grand Junction, CO — The Grand Junction Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance following multiple reports of thefts from vehicles during the early morning hours of Monday, January 12.
The incidents occurred in central Grand Junction, primarily between the 2100 and 2800 blocks. Police say there were no signs of forced entry, suggesting the vehicles may have been left unlocked.
Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have information, or surveillance or doorbell camera video capturing suspicious activity in the area during the overnight hours, to contact non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707 and reference GJPD case number 26-2230.
Police are also reminding residents to take simple preventative steps to reduce the likelihood of theft. Officers urge vehicle owners to lock their doors, remove all valuables, and avoid leaving items in plain view. Even brief lapses, police say, can provide an opportunity for theft.
