Grand Junction Man Arrested on Internet Luring Charge

Grand Junction, CO — Investigators with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Grand Junction man this week in connection with an internet luring investigation involving a minor.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Joshua Cross was arrested after investigators received information indicating he was communicating online with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. Authorities say Cross allegedly intended to meet the juvenile for a sexual encounter.

Cross was taken into custody without incident in the 200 block of 31 3/4 Road and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on a single charge:

  • Internet Luring of a Child with Intent of Sexual Contact/Exploitation, Felony 4

Investigators noted that Cross has a prior conviction for sex crimes dating back to 2005.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office did not release additional details regarding the investigation.
