Grand Junction Fire Department is responding to a storage unit fire at a business property on Riverside Parkway and 28 Road. Crews on scene are reporting the building is a metal storage unit with smoke seen from units 1 to 18. Flames are visible. Firefighters are opening unit doors attempting to locate the exact source and also to make sure units are fully evacuated and not occupied by any people.
Storage buildings are units B on the west side of the building, extending to units C on the east side.
Grand Junction Fire Department issued a statement to storage unit customers: “If you are a customer of the storage facility please contact the business management before responding to check on your belongings. The fire was limited to a small number of units with smoke damaging others. There is currently no access to the property”
