A search-and-rescue response was dispatched around 1:17 p.m. after radio traffic indicated a male had fallen from a Mosaic Tower at the Colorado National Monument. Fire, EMS, law enforcement, Mesa County Search and Rescue, and CareFlight are all dispatched.

The fall was reported to be about one mile below the “no thoroughfare” upper trailhead. The caller had difficulty reaching the patient; the subject’s age and extent of injuries were unknown in the radio traffic.

Update: Responders are in contact with the male who likely has a few broken ribs. The male is able to walk and crews are assisting him back to the trailhead for additional medical evaluation and transport to the hospital.
