GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 24-year-old Grand Junction resident is in custody facing serious felony charges following a child abuse investigation.
Joshua Knutson was arrested by Mesa County Sheriff’s Office investigators on Monday, February 9, 2026.
The investigation began on February 1, when deputies received a report from a mandatory reporter at a Denver-area hospital regarding possible abuse. Through interviews and evidence gathering, detectives identified Knutson as the sole suspect responsible for the child’s injuries.
Knutson was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Child Abuse Knowingly or Recklessly Causing Serious Bodily Injury (Felony 3)
- Attempt to Influence a Public Servant (Felony 4)
