Juvenile Arrested Following 30 Vehicle-Related Crimes

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A juvenile male is in custody following an investigation into a string of vehicle break-ins and auto thefts in the unincorporated areas of Grand Junction.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspect on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. According to investigators, the arrest is connected to a widespread spree involving 28 thefts from vehicles and two full auto thefts reported between January 14 and February 4.

Authorities identified the juvenile as the sole suspect in all 30 cases. A search warrant executed at his residence resulted in the discovery of evidence directly tied to the crimes.

The suspect was booked into the Division of Youth Corrections. In accordance with Colorado law protecting the privacy of minors, his identity will not be released. He faces numerous charges, including:

  • 1st Degree Criminal Trespass (32 Counts)
  • 3rd Degree Auto Theft (2 Counts)
  • 2nd Degree Burglary
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile
  • Criminal Possession of a Financial Device (3 Counts)
  • Theft ($1000-$5000)
