Windstorm Hazards, Mesa County

Various windstorm damages and hazards were reported around Mesa County late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

  • Law enforcement checked on several businesses around town that had security alarms going off due to the windstorm.
  • Around 1:00 a.m., a Sheriff patrol car on E 1/2 Road near Longs Park in Clifton was totaled by a fallen tree. No injuries were reported.
  • A tree fell onto a house on Tracy Drive. Clifton Fire responded.
  • Fire crews requested Xcel Energy be dispatched for a metal chicken-run that was blown onto nearby power lines.
  • Traffic light at Highway 50 and 32 Road is out. Xcel is working on restoring power in that area.
