GJPD Investigating After 50 Shots Fired on D 1/2 Rd

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — The Grand Junction Police Department is asking for the community’s help after an incident where dozens of shots were fired from a moving vehicle, leaving at least one home damaged last week.

Officers responded to the 3000 block of D 1/2 Road at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, following reports of shots fired in the area.

Upon investigation, detectives determined that the gunfire came from a vehicle traveling along D 1/2 Road. Investigators estimate that more than 50 rounds may have been fired during the incident.

While at least one residence was struck by at least one bullet, authorities confirmed that there have been no reported injuries.

The GJPD is currently seeking leads and is asking for assistance from the public. Residents living in and around the 3000 block of D 1/2 Road are strongly encouraged to review their home security, doorbell, or surveillance footage from around 8:50 p.m. on the night of February 17.
