Sheriff was in a vehicle pursuit with a silver Toyota Tacoma starting in the area of C 1/2 Road and 33 1/2 Road. The vehicle traveled north on 32 Road across Nottingham Drive south to D Road where it headed westbound. Deputies are searching the area for the vehicle and are also investigating suspicious activity where the pursuit began.
Callers reported seeing a vehicle matching the description traveling over 100 mph in the area of Patterson Road and 29 Road. Grand Junction Police and State Patrol are also searching the mentioned areas.
State Patrol is investigating a crashed vehicle in the area of C 1/2 Road and 33 1/2 Road that is not the run vehicle, but possibly related. The run vehicle, a silver Toyota Tacoma, is possibly stolen.
Update 9:20 p.m.: The suspect ditched their vehicle and fled on foot in the area of E 1/4 Road and 31 Road. Law enforcement has the suspect at gunpoint on E 1/4 Road and Sunburst Court.
Update 9:26 p.m.: Law enforcement has the suspect in custody. An ambulance has been dispatched to evaluate the suspect for minor injuries.
