
Search and rescue response was launched around 7:10 p.m. for a person who reportedly fell from a lookout near the visitor center on the west end of the Colorado National Monument. Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched and radio traffic indicates Colorado National Monument rangers and Fruita resources were being contacted; a search-and-rescue dispatch was requested and responders were reported en route with lights and sirens. CareFlight is also dispatched.
Update 8:45 p.m.: The Mesa County Coroner is on scene.
