Additional Suspect Arrested in Child Exploitation Sting

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — Authorities have arrested a fifth suspect in connection with a multi-day operation targeting internet crimes against children in Mesa County.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 11 a.m., investigators with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office and the Homeland Security Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce made the additional arrest. This apprehension is a direct result of an ongoing operation aimed at identifying and arresting individuals attempting to solicit sex from minors.

The suspect, identified as Michael Callan, 34, of Grand Junction, was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Internet Luring of a Child (Felony 4)
  • Sexual Exploitation of a Child (Felony 3)

Law enforcement previously announced the arrest of four other individuals during this same sting operation. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office stated that no further information regarding the operational details will be provided at this time.
