A brush fire was reported around 2:15 p.m. in the area of 14 Road and 14 1/2 Road near Q Road in Loma. Lower Valley fire crews, including units from Station 31 and Station 32 along with multiple brush units and a water tender, are responding to the scene.
Radio traffic indicates the ditch fire is running north through heavy fuels along a drainage ditch. Crews reported houses about a quarter mile away but said no structures were currently threatened. An additional brush truck was dispatched from Grand Junction station 6 to assist Lower Valley.
