An assault in progress was reported around 11:10 p.m. in the area of Pear Lane and D 1/2 Road. Grand Junction Police and Clifton fire/EMS units responded, with officers reported to be responding with lights and sirens.
Radio traffic indicated an open line with a female crying; the caller reportedly said she was shoved, had a hand placed over her mouth, and was threatened with possible wrist injury. Officers said a subject inside the residence was reported to have a firearm as they attempted contact. Units reported they were in contact with the female. At least one person was safely detained by law enforcement and EMS is checking involved parties for injuries.
