Woman Arrested Following Knife Threat on David St

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 30-year-old woman is facing felony assault and menacing charges after allegedly striking a man with an object and threatening him with a knife inside a semi-truck on Wednesday.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on April 1, 2026, Grand Junction Police officers responded to a report of felony menacing in the 1900 block of David Street. 911 dispatchers had received a call from a man reporting that his girlfriend was screaming and armed with a knife.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers contacted both individuals. During the investigation, police learned that the pair had been involved in a verbal dispute inside a semi-truck. The argument escalated when the woman reportedly struck the man with an object before grabbing a knife.

Both individuals sustained minor injuries during the physical altercation and were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

Following the investigation, officers developed probable cause and arrested the suspect, identified as Cesia Hidalgo, 30. Hidalgo was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked on the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Assault – Deadly Weapon
  • Menacing – Real/Simulated Weapon
  • Domestic Violence
