A vehicle crash was reported about 9:43 a.m. on Interstate 70 at mile marker 31. Grand Junction police and fire units responded after callers reported a gold SUV went off into the median and was partially blocking the westbound No. 2 lane.
Radio traffic indicated the driver told responders she was not injured, though a fire unit initially reported unknown extent of injuries. On-scene officers later advised there were no injuries and said EMS was not needed. Responders also reported significant hail on the roadway. One other vehicle reportedly slid off the road and left the scene; the gold SUV may require towing as crews attempted to move it out of the lane.
Update: A secondary crash occurred at mile marker 30, this time in the eastbound lanes. A vehicle reportedly rolled over into a ditch off the roadway. EMS and police from mile marker 31 responded to the marker 30 crash. No injuries were reported. Crews are on scene.
