Police and store security responded about 7:44 p.m. to reports of a male shoplifting with a knife at the Walmart at on Rimrock. Asset protection told dispatch the man had a knife with a four-inch blade, briefly displayed it and then returned it to his pocket while concealing merchandise and placing items in a shopping cart.
Officers were asked to stage and remain mobile outside near the lawn and garden and automotive entrances as radio traffic aired a priority foot pursuit. The suspect was quickly detained by police. No injuries were reported.
