Fire and EMS units responded about 9:23 a.m. to reports of smoke and a burning smell at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of College Place.
Crews reported smoke showing from the roof line on the east side of the two-story building and initiated an offensive attack. Firefighters placed ladders to the gable, and accessed the second-floor ceiling area after locating smoke at a second-floor ceiling fan and a vent pipe on the roof. No injuries were reported.
The Grand Junction Fire Department stated that one person was displaced by the incident and that the origin and cause are still under investigation.
