A vehicle fire was reported about 3:36 p.m. on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 21 near Fruita. Lower Valley Fire Station 31 and Ambulance 31 were dispatched and reported en route after multiple callers reported a pickup towing an RV camper RV towing a pickup truck that caught on fire in the eastbound lane. Callers said there was a propane tank at the front of the camper and that the driver had safely moved away from the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
I-70 eastbound lanes are closed between Fruita and Grand Junction exits.
