A two-vehicle crash was reported about 12:46 p.m. at Hwy 340 and Jurassic Avenue in Fruita. Lower Valley emergency crews and law enforcement were dispatched to the scene.
Radio traffic identified a white Mazda SUV and a gray Lexus — the Lexus reportedly carrying several children — with vehicles blocking traffic. Dispatch advised three patients requested ambulance assistance, including a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old with neck abrasions; both children were reported conscious and breathing. Responders requested an additional ambulance from Station 32. All occupants were able to make their way safely out of the vehicles.
