A brush fire was reported around 10:00 a.m. this morning north of Broadway near the Pepsi plant on Dike Road. Radio traffic described the blaze as roughly 50 by 50 feet, slow-moving with open flames and burning grass. Winds were reported low. Crews advised the best entry may be through a fence southeast of Pitt Road. No injuries are reported.
Crews believe the fire might be quicky mitigated and are working to access the fire to extinguish it.
