Man Arrested After $50,000 Machinery Theft

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 20-year-old man was arrested after police recovered more than $50,000 worth of stolen machinery taken from a local business earlier this week.

On May 26, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers received a report of machinery stolen from a business in the 2100 block of River Road.

During the investigation, officers determined that a concrete sealer had been taken from inside the building. Detectives identified and contacted a suspect, developing probable cause for an arrest. Upon executing a search warrant, investigators successfully recovered stolen property valued at over $50,000.

The suspect, identified as Teudolo Cota-Palma, 20, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. He was booked on the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Burglary of a Building
  • Theft from a Building ($20,000 – $100,000)
