
Search-and-rescue fire department resources and law enforcement were dispatched about 12:17 p.m. to Cedar Street on the south side of the river after callers reported a child holding onto a tree on the edge of a cliff.
Radio traffic indicated the child was approximately 12 years old and had slipped while playing near a drain that outlets to the river. Passersby and bystanders attempted to reach the child before responders arrived. Later transmissions stated the child was safely rescued and fire personnel were in contact; no injuries were reported.
