River Rescue, Area of 29 Rd & River

Emergency responders were dispatched about 6:29 p.m. to a reported river rescue near the 29 Road bridge. Mesa County sheriff deputies, local fire units and ambulance crews were sent to the north side of the river after callers reported a raft struck a log and at least one person suffered a leg injury.

Radio traffic indicated a 21-year-old female was unable to exit the river and another occupant may have a broken leg. Early reports said one person was holding onto a branch. Callers and responders said all subjects are wearing life jackets.

Rescue crews are on scene.
