Fire crews and Grand Junction police responded about 4:16 p.m. to a reported structure fire at the Nail Salon, 2883 North Ave, in front of the North Avenue Walmart. Dispatch reported boxes or pallets burning behind the building and people attempting to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher as units were en route.
Law enforcement reported the outside portion of the fire was out. Fire crews arriving on scene reporting smoldering debris on the exterior of the building. Crews are checking for extension on the interior. Fire units that were still in route have cancelled and are returning to station with current on scene units remaining to investigate. Store is checking cameras to see in anything suspicious happened to cause the fire.
