Law enforcement engaged in a high risk traffic stop around 5:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and 32 Road after a blue Chevrolet Malibu reported stolen out of Delta was spotted on Highway 50. Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies and Colorado State Patrol units were involved in the response.
Scanner traffic indicated the Malibu was traveling westbound on Highway 50. Law enforcement briefly blocked the highway during the incident. Two occupants were quickly detained without any issues. No injuries were reported. Animal control was dispatched to take custody of two dogs in vehicle.
