Wild Bear Captured in Clifton

Colorado Parks and Wildlife and sheriff deputies were working around 10:00 a.m., in the area of the 500 blocks of Beverly Lane and Stanford Way after receiving multiple reports of a bear moving through residential backyards and jumping fences. Radio traffic described crews setting up a perimeter and coordinating coverage of north and east sides of the neighborhood as the animal moved north toward Ford Street.

Units advised the bear was successfully darted. The bear eventually came to a rest several minutes later and fell asleep in a residential yard. Wildlife officers took the bear into custody. No injuries were reported.
