Fire crews and police responded shortly after 11:12 p.m. to reports of a brush fire in the 1500 block of Bookcliff Court near the canal. Grand Junction Fire units, including Engine 2 and Truck 1, and an ambulance were dispatched; Grand Junction police assisted on scene.
Radio traffic described burning bushes about three feet from a building with flames roughly 10 feet high. Engine 2 reported the fire was directly behind the address and crews accessed the area from the canal road. Southbound traffic on 15th Street was blocked during the response. No injuries were reported.
