Fire crews were dispatched after scanner traffic reported a backyard weed fire in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue. Dispatch directed engine units, including Engine 5, to respond and requested mutual aid from Clifton Fire as nearby structure fires were also active in the area at 9th and Walnut and 12th and Walnut.
Radio traffic indicated no structures were currently involved and no injuries were reported in the transmissions. Crews were being redirected to contain the yard fire before it could spread.
