Sheriff Issues Pre-Evacuation for BS Road

GLADE PARK, CO — Multiple active wildfires burning on federal lands in western Mesa County have prompted the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office to issue pre-evacuation orders and road closures Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. on June 27, the Sheriff’s Office placed residents in the Glade Park area on pre-evacuation standby due to rapidly changing conditions. Deputies are currently in the area making door-to-door, in-person notifications to affected residents.

Mesa County Road and Bridge crews are actively assisting law enforcement with traffic control and road closures to ensure public safety and clear access for emergency responders.

Pre-Evacuation Orders

Residents in the following areas should be prepared to leave immediately if conditions worsen:

  • All properties on BS Road west of 11 5/10 Road to the Utah border.

Active Road Closures

The following roads are currently closed to public traffic:

  • A 2/10 Road at DS Road
  • BS Road prior to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) boundary
