Fire crews responded around 1:00 p.m. to reports of smoke and visible flames at a trailer in the Midlands Village mobile home park near 435 32 Road in Clifton. Mesa County Sheriff deputies were also dispatched and advised they would assist at the scene.
The reporting party described black smoke and said a neighbor was helping evacuate a resident from an adjacent trailer; the caller also indicated nobody was at the burning trailer. On-scene crews deployed a hand line for primary search and fire control and announced an offensive firefighting strategy. No injuries were currently reported.
