
Grand Junction Fire and EMS units responded around 7:10 p.m. to reports of a commercial structure fire at Total Energies, 569 24 1/4 Road. Multiple engines, ambulances, and a battalion chief were dispatched to the scene.
Radio traffic indicated a loud explosion and a large plume of black smoke from a shed on the south side of the property. Callers reported drums of liquid resin exploding. No injuries were currently reported.
Traffic on Riverside Parkway is partially blocked by responders.
Update 7:45 p.m.: Crews are still working to extinguish the main fire. They are also using water to cool addition tanks / storage near the fire. One firefighter is being evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.

Update from the Grand Junction Fire Department:
The fire has been fully extinguished and firefighting apparatus are beginning to leave the incident. Runoff from firefighting efforts has been contained on the property and GJFD hazardous materials specialists are working with the property owners to mitigate the incident.
The fire at 569 24 1/2 Road has been knocked down. Firefighters remain on scene applying large amounts of water to cool hot spots, as materials deep within the seat of the fire continue to retain heat and reignite. Crews will remain on scene until the fire is fully extinguished and no longer poses a risk.
