Lower Valley Fire and Colorado Parks and Wildlife crews were dispatched after a report of a bear stuck in a tree at Pine Street and Pabor Avenue in Fruita. The bear was darted with a tranquilizer and climbed down out of the tree and attempted to leave the area. Wildlife crews are following the bear waiting for the tranquilizer to take effect. Radio traffic does not indicate the bear is currently being hostile or threatening in any way. Fruita Police are also assisting and making sure bystanders keep a safe distance.
