Fire and EMS units responded about 9:47 a.m. to the 300 block of Clarinet Lane for a reported possible structure fire after a neighbor reported an evaporative cooler emitting heavy white smoke and a burning plastic odor.
A house occupant suffered a burn injury after attempting to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher. Firefighters found no visible flames on arrival but located a smoldering swamp cooler in a vent that had been extinguished; crews are ventilating the smoke from the house and investigating.
