Grand Junction police responded around 5:17 p.m. to an assault report in the 3200 block of Lakeside Drive. A caller reported that a female was being beaten. Police located an injured female and reported a male was held at gunpoint during the response. The male suspect was eventually tased and taken into custody.
The female had a large head contusion with significant bleeding. Fire crews staged nearby, and Ambulance 12 responded to provide medical assistance. An additional ambulance was dispatched because of the taser deployment. Law enforcement is investigating.
