Lower Valley fire crews responded around 2:45 p.m. to a reported structure fire at a home on Lonnie Way. A mail carrier reported the front door was on fire and smoke was coming from the roof.
Crews arriving on scene described a single-story modular home with an active fire on the front side extending into the attic. Firefighters began an offensive attack, prepared for a primary search and contacted neighbors to determine whether anyone was inside. Law enforcement was also on scene. No injuries were currently reported.
Update: Lower Valley Fire requested mutual aid assistance from Grand Junction Fire Department Station 5.
