
MESA COUNTY, CO — The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple incidents over the weekend, resulting in several arrests across the county for offenses ranging from repeat trespassing and felony DUI to domestic violence and a hit-and-run collision.
Below is a summary of the weekend arrests:
Concealed Weapon and Narcotics Arrest in North Desert
On Friday, August 14, at approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies responded to the north desert area off 25 Road to assist a Bureau of Land Management Ranger who was in contact with two adults. One individual, identified as Rodney Hundley, 59, of Clifton, had two active arrest warrants and was legally restrained from possessing or consuming controlled substances.

Hundley was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on his active warrants and the following charges:
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (<4g, Misdemeanor 1)
- Unlawfully Carrying a Concealed Weapon – Knife/Gun (Misdemeanor 1)
- Violation of a Protection Order (Misdemeanor 1)
- Obstructing a Peace Officer (Misdemeanor 2)
- Unlawful Conduct on Public Property (Petty Offense)
Frequent Trespassing Suspect Arrested in Grand Junction
Later that morning, at approximately 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to a reported trespass in the 2900 block of Jon Hall in Grand Junction. Jessica Pauls, 38, who is reported as unhoused, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on a single petty offense count of Second-Degree Criminal Trespass of an Enclosed/Fenced Property.

Authorities noted that Pauls has been booked into the facility seven times since March 2026, primarily for trespassing and harassment charges, as well as warrants.
Clifton Arrest Follows Domestic Assault
At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a local hospital regarding an assault that had occurred in the county. Investigators located the suspect in the 100 block of Laura Avenue in Clifton.

Brian Abbott Clark, 25, of Fairplay, Colorado, was arrested and booked on numerous charges, including:
- First-Degree Assault – Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon (Felony 3)
- Second-Degree Assault – By Use of Drugs (Felony 4)
- Second-Degree Assault – Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury by Strangulation (Felony 4)
- Criminal Attempt (Felony 4)
- Menacing (Felony 5)
- Obstruction of Telephone (Misdemeanor 1)
- Reckless Endangerment (Misdemeanor 2)
- Criminal Mischief – Under $300 (Petty Offense)
- Domestic Violence
- Fugitive of Other Jurisdiction Warrant
Patrol Nets Felony DUI Arrest on North Avenue
Just before 8:00 p.m. on Friday, a deputy working a High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement (HVE) shift conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of North Avenue. The HVE campaign, organized by the Colorado Department of Transportation, funds dedicated patrols and checkpoints to decrease impaired driving.

During the stop, Christy Sisineros, 44, of Grand Junction, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- DUI – Drove Vehicle Under the Influence with 3 or More Prior Convictions (Felony 4)
- No Insurance in Possession
- Failed to Drive in Designated Lane
- Failed to Use Turn Signals
Las Colonias DUI Suspect Faces Additional Hit-and-Run Charges
On Saturday, August 15, at approximately 11:00 p.m., deputies were investigating a hit-and-run incident in the 2900 block of Parkway Drive in Grand Junction. While in the area of an address associated with the suspect, deputies heard radio traffic indicating the Grand Junction Police Department was actively contacting the suspect at Las Colonias Park for an unrelated reckless driving incident.

The suspect, identified as Courtney Duque, 25, of Clifton, was ultimately arrested. In addition to the charges filed by the GJPD, she was booked on the following charges stemming from the Sheriff’s Office hit-and-run investigation:
- First-Degree Assault – Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon (Felony 3)
- Vehicular Assault While Driving in a Reckless Manner (Felony 5)
- Criminal Attempt (Felony 4 and Felony 6)
- Criminal Mischief – $2,000 to $5,000 (Felony 6)
- Reckless Endangerment (Misdemeanor 2)
- Menacing (Misdemeanor)
- Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
