
NEW CASTLE, CO — Westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are closed Sunday night between New Castle and Silt following a mudslide and heavy flooding in the area.
The closure, which was announced around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, begins at Mile Point 101 in New Castle.
Commuters are being detoured onto US Highway 6 and the local frontage road. Authorities state there is currently no estimated time for the interstate to reopen.
