A possible drowning was reported around 7:14 p.m. Aug. 31 in a canal beneath the bridge near North Avenue and 28 Road. A person was reportedly seen in the water and found unconscious and not breathing on the south side of the bridge.
Law enforcement arrived and began CPR. Fire-rescue units responded with lights and sirens. The patient was transported to St Mary’s Hospital in life-threatening condition.
