GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 49-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after Grand Junction police officers spotted her driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen just hours earlier.
On Monday, August 31, at approximately 8:40 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of Pitkin Avenue. The reporting party stated that an unknown female had stolen a vehicle from his property and provided police with video footage of the incident.
Later that day, at approximately 4:35 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of South 3rd Street and South Avenue when they observed the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was being driven by a female who matched the description of the suspect seen in the victim’s video footage.
Officers initiated a high-risk vehicle stop and took the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Kellie Lombardo, into custody without incident.
Lombardo was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on the following charges:
- Third-Degree Motor Vehicle Theft
- First-Degree Criminal Trespass (Auto) with Intent to Commit Crime
- Third-Degree Burglary
- Criminal Mischief
- Driving with a Revoked License – Aggravated
