A vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash was reported at approximately 2:44 a.m. Sept. 20 at Orchard Avenue and North 8th Street. Grand Junction police, fire and EMS units responded to reports that a 26-year-old woman had been struck by a vehicle and was lying in the roadway.
The woman was conscious and breathing and reported a possible leg injury. The vehicle was described as a white four-door sedan or Ford that fled the scene. Radio traffic gave conflicting directions of travel, reporting the vehicle was last seen either westbound or eastbound on Orchard Avenue from North 8th Street.
