GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 39-year-old Grand Junction man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly returning to a home and breaking through two doors hours after deputies had removed him from the property.
On September 20, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of Bear Valley Court. Deputies met with the reporting party at a nearby address and learned that an intoxicated man known to a resident had entered the property and caused a disturbance.
The man, identified as Michael Salazar, 39, was initially removed from the home without incident at the resident’s request.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies were called back after residents reported that Salazar had entered the home again. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Salazar fled as deputies arrived but was located a short distance away and taken into custody.
Investigators determined that Salazar had allegedly broken through two doors to gain entry to the residence.
Salazar was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following charges:
- First-Degree Criminal Trespass of an Inhabited Dwelling (Two Counts, Felony 6)
- Second-Degree Criminal Tampering (Misdemeanor 2)
- Criminal Mischief — $300 to $1,000 (Misdemeanor 2)
- Domestic Violence
- Second-Degree Criminal Trespass of an Enclosed or Fenced Property (Petty Offense)
