Fire crews responded to a semi truck on the shoulder of I-70 near mile marker 24 after a possible fire was reported. Responders found no smoke or flames showing and began investigating the situation. The driver reported his brakes had caught fire.
Colorado State Patrol was requested to respond using lights and sirens to assist with traffic control. The No. 2 lane was expected to remain closed temporarily while crews worked on scene. No injuries were reported in the scanner traffic.
