Woman Arrested After Deputies Find Cut Copper Pipes

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 41-year-old Grand Junction woman was arrested Sunday morning after deputies investigating a trespassing report found her with cut copper piping and tools used to access and cut pipes.

On September 27, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a trespass in progress in the 2800 block of Riverside Park Drive. The reporting party believed someone may have been living in a vacant building on the property and storing stolen items inside.

Deputies located a woman matching the suspect’s description in the 2700 block of Riverside Parkway. The woman, identified as Angela Williams, 41, was found carrying multiple sections of cut copper piping and tools, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators also located additional sections of pipe that had been cut and left behind at the original property.

Williams was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Burglary of a Building (Felony 4)
  • Theft — $300 to $1,000 (Misdemeanor 2)
  • Possession of Burglary Tools (Misdemeanor 2)
