CLIFTON, CO — The Clifton Fire Protection District anticipates visible progress on its planned fire station at 32 Road and D Road in early 2027 as the sales tax-supported project moves through planning and approval steps.

In a community update, Fire Chief Brian Cherveny confirmed that the effort remains a two-station project, consistent with the district’s commitment to residents. The planned administrative station at 32 Road and D Road will serve as the district’s main station while a second station to the north is built.

The district is moving forward with its partnership with Clifton Sanitation District for the administrative station site and preparing for rezoning hearings. Those planning and approval steps must take place before visible work can begin.

Cherveny said early 2027 remains the anticipated timeframe for on-site activity at 32 Road and D Road, though the schedule depends on rezoning and other project preparations.

“While less visible than construction, this work is an essential part of getting the stations built,” Cherveny said in the update.

Cherveny thanked residents for supporting the sales tax that is helping fund the project and pledged to keep the community informed as both stations move forward.

“We take seriously the responsibility to deliver the station facilities promised through the sales tax,” he said.
